Let Jesus Take the Point Guard Position
One of the hardest things in basketball was watching someone else step into the position I was used to playing. I wondered if they would make the right decisions, execute the right plays, or perform better than I had.
If I'm honest, I've wrestled with that same uncertainty in my marriage.
Sometimes I try to hold onto responsibilities that were never meant to be mine.
I want to control the outcome, protect my family, and make every right decision. But the more tightly I hold on, the more exhausted I become.
The truth is, there is One who is far more qualified to lead than I am.
When we surrender control and allow Jesus to take the "point guard" position in our lives, we can finally rest. We no longer have to carry the weight of making every perfect play because He never makes mistakes.
1 Peter 2:22 says,
"He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth."
Jesus is perfect.
His wisdom is perfect.
His timing is perfect.
His leadership is perfect.
Today, ask yourself: What position am I trying to hold onto that Jesus is asking me to surrender?
The more we trust Him to lead, the more confidently we can step into the role He has actually called us to play.
