Own Your Position

Have you ever wondered if you're really the right person for the position God has given you?

When I was in seventh grade, I was invited to play on a traveling AAU basketball team that competed against some of the best players in the country. I joined the U16 team, and to say I was in over my head would be an understatement. I questioned whether I belonged, but one thing became clear, I had to own the position I had been given.

That lesson didn't stay on the basketball court.

In marriage, it's easy to question whether we're the right wife, whether we're doing enough, or whether God really chose us for this role. But God doesn't place us in our marriages by accident. He knew exactly who you were when He called you into the position you're in today.

Esther 4:14 reminds us,

"And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?"

When Esther doubted her ability to step into what God was asking of her, Mordecai reminded her that she had been placed there for a purpose. The same is true for us. Whether you're in a season of joy or walking through challenges, God has positioned you where you are for a reason.

Today, instead of questioning whether you're enough, ask God to help you faithfully steward the position He has given you. You don't have to be perfect, you simply have to trust the One who called you.

Reflection

Where has God called you to own your position instead of doubting it?
