Making Space for Beauty
Oh, how it looked.
There was beauty there, flowers blooming in pockets of color, yet weeds had begun to claim the space as their own. I could see the intention behind it. I had once planted with purpose, envisioning beauty flourishing in every corner. But somewhere along the way, the care required to maintain it had been neglected.
Still, I could see its potential.
I found myself imagining what this garden could become if someone took the time to tend it. If someone pulled the weeds, nourished the soil, and made room for the beauty waiting to grow.
If only I could make space for beauty.
As I stood there, I realized how much this garden reflected my own heart.
How often do we allow the weeds of life, busyness, distractions, worries, comparison, and endless responsibilities, to crowd out the beauty God planted within us?
Beneath all the cares of this world, each of us carries incredible potential. Yet so often, we become consumed with maintaining everything around us that we neglect the very space where our own beauty is meant to grow.
For years, I looked at this garden and prayed for what it could become. In many ways, I have prayed those same prayers for myself.
And today, I pray them for you.
I pray that you would make space for your own inner beauty.
I pray that you would make room to grow, to cultivate, and to reflect the beauty God placed within you. A beauty that ultimately reflects Him.
What might each of us become if we intentionally cared for our hearts? What beauty could bloom if we made space for it?
So often, I have searched for beauty in other gardens. I have admired the blooms in someone else's life and believed that beauty existed somewhere outside of me. And while beauty certainly exists in others, what if beauty also exists within you?
What if God has planted something unique within your heart that is waiting to be cultivated?
What if the very thing you've been searching for in other people is something God desires to grow within you?
God has given each of us a unique beauty, a gift, a calling, a reflection of His character, that was never meant to remain hidden.
It was created to bless the world around us. Yet far too often, we become too busy, too distracted, or too overwhelmed to nurture it.
Just as a garden cannot flourish without care, neither can the beauty God has planted within us.
If this space is to become all it was created to be, it must be tended. The weeds must be removed. The soil must be cultivated. Time and attention must be given to growth.
The same is true for us.
The beauty within you is worth making space for.
